Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly Distributes Second Tranche of Livelihood Support to PWDs
The Government, through the Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly, has distributed the second tranche of livelihood support items to selected Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in the municipality.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Joseph Awal Antwi, is aimed at creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for Persons With Disabilities and supporting them to become economically independent.
Among the items presented to beneficiaries were cassava milling machines, chest freezers and other livelihood-support equipment. The items are expected to enable beneficiaries to establish or strengthen small-scale businesses and income-generating ventures.
The intervention forms part of efforts by the Government and the Municipal Assembly to promote social inclusion, economic empowerment and improved livelihoods for Persons With Disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Government and the Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly for the support, noting that the equipment would provide them with practical opportunities to generate income and improve their standard of living.
Hon. Joseph Awal Antwi reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting initiatives that improve the welfare of vulnerable persons in the municipality. He urged the beneficiaries to take good care of the items and utilize them effectively to achieve sustainable economic benefits.
The presentation underscores the Assembly’s broader commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind in the development process, while empowering individuals and families to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of Nkwanta South.
